Dearest Mother and Dad,
I am answering your letter of August 2nd. That letter came thru very quickly.
Ovid Mullins got in touch with me yesterday and he lives just a short way from me. His wife knows where he is so why not ask her? He is with a Military Police outfit here. I was really glad to find someone from home. We are going out to a native village this afternoon. He is having a little rug made. We trade cigarettes, razor blades, etc. for all kinds of trinkets. Yes, Mom, I spent my leave in Sydney. It is a very good town and I had a very good time. I hope you get a good map of CENSORED so you can follow us. Yes, our tails are painted white so we won’t be mistaken for zeros. I have made several combat missions and if I am lucky I’ll get an Air Medal one of these days.
