Dearest Thelma & Walt,  (tell Jack Smith hello!)

I am a little late this time in answering your letter but I hope you will forgive me.  We do get rather busy over here at times.  I am well and doing fine so far.  My leave is coming up soon and I am getting very impatient.

Our business is getting to be routine now since we are used to it but it has its exciting times.  Surely wish I were back in the States.  I didn’t know it was such a wonderful place ‘til I got here.  As far my part, the Japs would be cheated if they took this place.

Thelma please don’t send me anything to wear for Xmas because I am loaded to the gills and no place to put anything.  Victrola records (dance bands) would be perfect.  I would appreciate them.  Send some if you can.

                                                                                                 Bye now,

                                                                                                 Son

 p.s. send Kat’s address
