Dearest Mother and Dad,
Well, here it is Christmas Day and it has been around 110’ all day. That is not unusual, it is like that all the time here. I would certainly like to have a little cold weather just to see how it is. Today has been just like all the rest but we had creamed turkey instead of bully beef.. (We had that for supper.)
We are making history fast over here and are getting in on some mighty big shows. I wish I could tell you about them. Maybe it won’t be too long before I can. We are all as happy as we can be under the circumstances and we are really anxious to get this over. I haven’t received any papers lately but I guess I’ll get a big bunch all at once. You can’t imagine how much kick I get out of receiving the papers. I nearly lose myself in them and sometimes imagine myself back at home reading the paper.
Mom, there is so much doing that I can’t write about. You’ll just have to read about them. Gosh, I wish I could tell you about them. This may sound funny but since we eat, sleep, & work this stuff, we naturally think about it all the time. Please bear this in mind.
I haven’t written much lately but since we have been changing our living place things have been in a big uproar. However, our operations have been the same.
Well, Mom & Dad, I am still in fine shape and still eager for a fight I think I’ll soon have my share shortly. I surely hope God is on my side and will give me courage & strength to go thru all this. I lay all my trust in him.
Keep your faith and prayers for me and I am sure I’ll come out O.K.
Goodnight and may God bless you all. Give everyone my regards.
I love you,
Son
