Dearest Mother and Dad,
I hope you will excuse the V-mail but it is about all I have time for today.
I am sure you know what we have been doing by the news reports. We have really been working hard. I surely will be glad when everything settles down again. It is pretty hard on ones constitution at times. I have had some very exciting times and I’ll be very glad when I can tell you all about them.
I am getting a new engine in my ship. It should be ready to test tomorrow. I hope so because it is a wonderful ship. Our tent is now completed and looks very good. We would be very happy if our sleep wasn’t interrupted. Please don’t worry.
