New Guinea

 Dearest Mother & Dad,

I hope you had a very Happy Easter and I hope I get to spend the next one with you.  Surely wish I could tell you where I went on this Easter.  I bet it would make your hair stand on end.  But, we got by with it and it was lots of fun.

We are still busy but we want to move again so we can get this war over.  However, it will probably be someone else’s turn to go on first.  The one that goes first usually has the most activity.

Our mail has been pretty slow lately and perhaps tomorrow we might be able to hear from home.  How do you like the news from over here?  We are trying to make it be like you want it.

How is the car getting along?  You haven’t said lately.  How are the tires?  How much mileage does it have?

I haven’t heard from Kat in quite a long time.  I wish she would write more often, but from the sound of your letters, you would like to hear from her, too.

Mom, you haven’t said recently what you did with my horse.  You can sell it if you want to.  Do what ever you think best.  It will be O.K. with me.

Don’t have much to write about tonight so will let it go at this. Write often and tell me all the news at home.  Send me all the clippings you can.

‘Bye for now and take care of yourself and Dad.

                                                                                                 All my love,

                                                                                                 Son
