 Dearest Mother, Dad, & Velma;

             Well, how are you folks today? I guess now you are just getting up to start the day.  We have just finished it and getting ready to go to bed.  Not much going on lately.  Doing quite a bit of dive-bombing but that is getting to be just routine now.  I have a feeling we won’t be here long.  Things are too quiet for us and I imagine they will have us up among the Nips again.  Seems like they aren’t satisfied until we are sleeping in the same area as the Nips.  Kinda hard to sleep at times, tho.  It does make everything more interesting.

             We have a very nice camp area now – very comfortable. We get all the latest news and we keep up with the “Second Front” with a map.

             Mom, I didn’t feel like finishing this letter last night as we had our “unwelcomed guests” again & I didn’t feel very well.  I am O.K. today but a little tired.

 I am enclosing a piece of propaganda the Nips dropped on Gloucester.  I thought you might like it.  I have been carrying it in my wallet for a long time now.  I am also enclosing some Australian money.  The six-pence is worth about 10 cents U.S.; the three-pence about 5 cents U.S.

             Well, again I say keep a sharp lookout for my APO.  I am sure fed up with all this moving.  We have had our share of moving.

             I am O.K. so try not to worry about me.  Everything is O.K. for me.  Action slowed down a lot but when we move we will be in it again.

             Write often!

                                                                                                 Love,

                                                                                                 Son
