Dearest Mom & Dad,
Since I have moved to New Guinea my mail has not come in very regular. I know you are writing and the mix up is over on this side. It will straighten out in a few days.
I have all ready been up but I have not contacted the enemy as of yet. Wish I could tell you more but I can’t. I am getting along fine and we are having lots of fun. I wish you could see my Jungle pack and rubber life boat. It is all fastened to my parachute and it is really heavy. All you have heard about this jungle life is very true. And it really looks bad from the air, too.
We take attabrine tablets every day to suppress malaria fever. Sure hope I stay clear of all that stuff. My ears bothered me a little today but nothing serious. Just have to be careful. ‘Bye now and write soon.
Love,
Son
P.S. Mom, your mail is not censored.
