 Dearest Mother and Dad,

Well, I wonder how everything is at home today.  Probably still hot, and plenty of it.  I am getting along fine and feel very well.  These malaria pills make me feel kinda rough at times but not as often.  I don’t mind as long as I don’t get that stuff.

I have a new job in the squadron.  I can’t tell you what it is but I had the training in Florida for this job.  There is lots of responsibility and it is very interesting.  It doesn’t interfere too much with my flying but it does sometimes.  I don’t mind much because it may lead to something better.

We haven’t had any promotions in the squadron yet.  We are all still second Lieuts.  Don’t know why.  Guess it is just our luck.  Lots of fellows coming over just out of flying school are all ready first Lieut.  We don’t like it either.  I am getting along fine so don’t worry.

                                                                                                 All my love,

                                                                                                 Son
