Dearest Mother & Dad,
Well, here I am in dear ‘ole Australia. A very long way from home. It is quite different than what I expected. Everything seems to be very much out of date. Especially women’s clothes. They drive on the wrong side of the street and walk on the wrong side of the walk. It is very confusing but I guess I will get used to it.
Our living conditions are not comparable to Rhode Island but I guess we will get used to that too.
I will have another new APO number pretty soon so watch for it.
I got all my mail today, twelve letters, and I have really read them.
Eight of them were from Barbara. I
think that was very nice of her. I
wish you and Dad knew her.
I got a letter from Mary but she was scolding me again. Why she does that I don’t know.
How are the girls? I hope they will write me and also very often. I didn’t get to see Buxton Gilmore but I sure did want to. Well Mom, how about writing me some V-mail. I think it is best. Did you get my cable? I’ll write again tomorrow.
Love,
Son
