New Guinea

 Dearest Mother and Dad,

Everything has been rather exciting lately. Sometimes a little too exciting.  I haven’t had any trouble yet but my heart has been several times in my mouth.  My helmet is also coming very handy.

Our new camp is getting better every day.  We have some good showers, a good mess hall.  The showers are the best.  I think they are worth their weight in gold.

We are getting fairly regular mail now.  Please write often because here it really means a lot.

As far as news, I have none that I can tell you.

Be sure and keep up with the news reports.  You should be able to find out all about what is going on over here.

Please don’t worry about me for I am doing O.K.

            I’ll write again tomorrow.

                                                                                                 Love,

                                                                                                 Son
