New Guinea

Dear Mother and Dad, and Velma,

Here I am again but I don’t have much news as of anything interesting but I am sure you want to hear from me.  I got paid today and I will send most of it home.

We are not finding many Nips nowadays but we do a lot of hunting.

I was glad to hear about Mary’s wedding and am relieved to know that is all over.  I do hope she had a nice wedding and I am sure her husband is a fine fellow.

We didn’t get any mail today so I am at a loss as to what to write.  I answered you as to what to do with my horse.  I told Dad to do what ever he wanted to do.  If I ever want another one, I’ll get one.  However, I want to keep my bridle & saddle.  We are always talking about when we are going home but we have nothing definite.  We just live on hopes.

Lytle was made ass’t. Engineering officer lately among his regular duties and he has been doing a darn good job.

I will have a new airplane before too long and I think I will name it “Sweetwater Swatter”.  How do you like that name?  Do you have any suggestions?

This is all I know tonight and since I owe Kat a letter I had better write her, pack and go to bed.  I am looking forward to your letters so please keep them coming.

                                                                                                 All my love,

                                                                                                 Son
