Dearest Mother & Dad,

I have just finished writing you a V-mail in hopes it will reach you in a short time.  Now, I will try to answer a few of your questions in the letters I received tonight dated Mar. 5, 9, & 10.  As to the reports you have been hearing from over here, they are 100% correct.  You can believe them, I know.  I haven’t seen Jack Faver since we have moved but he was working in our area.  His type of work is like Ralph Johnson used to experiment with.  He might have been transferred since I last saw him but I doubt it.  He has a very large territory to work over.  From what I gather, Doug Stephenson is on a C-47 transport.  They are practically running the war over here but I don’t like them.  That is what I ride in when I go on leave.  As for the fight you were talking about, that was Frank Morrison’s outfit.  They did a swell job, too.

Too bad for Cosmos!  It happens in the best of families.  No use to worry tho.  If you had seen as many as I, you would get used to that.

Mom, I need Bill Johnson’s address.  Will you send it to me please?

Glad to hear Billie is in the Navy.  That is a very good branch.  If I had it to do over I might take flying for the Marines.  They have so much better food.

Well, I think I have answered all your questions.  You haven’t said where you think I am now.  Why don’t you try to guess?

Mom, I wish you would try to get me a silver dog-tag chain.  Mine is brass and leaves a green circle around my neck.  Please do it as soon as you can.

‘Bye for now, Mom please don’t worry ‘cause I am O.K.  You will be getting lots of mail soon!

                                                                                                 Love,

                                                                                                 Son
