Dearest Mother & Dad,
Here I am back again after a very pleasant leave in Sydney. I am glad to be back because the trip is very tiring.
The city was just the same and since I know my way around now, it is
getting to be like the States. I
sent you and Dad a present that I hope you like.
It is extremely hard to get anything there because of the rationing. I am
sure it is much worse that the States because the Aussies have had to give up
just about everything. Please keep
a close watch on my APO because it will soon be different.
We don’t get settled until we are gone again.
I received lots of mail from you but since we haven’t had much in eight
days I am sure I have more somewhere else.
Hope you got my cable O.K. Don’t
worry – everything is fine and I’ll be writing often now.
Love,
Son
